Club members sign-on for a great digital experience

The Kick Off

When Wests Group, a titan in the Hunter club and hospitality scene, teamed up with Newism, the goal was clear: elevate the member experience into the digital age without losing the sparkle and shine that’s at the heart of their brand. We embarked on a journey to deliver a seamless blend of essential technology, and bring all the moving parts to the one (very happening!) party.

A bit of background into Wests

For those who don't live in paradise (the Hunter Region)....

Wests (as it's known locally) has been a household name in the Hunter Region for decades, offering various entertainment, accommodation and dining, function and fitness facilities across the region.

In 2017, Wests Group acquired The Newcastle Knights (professional Rugby League Football Club) - the only club in the league based in Hunter Region, so there is massive fan-base locally.

Newism delivered!

But behind the scenes, they faced a challenge many in the hospitality industry grapple with: integrating modern tech to streamline operations while enhancing customer engagement. Enter Newism, armed with a knack for solving complex puzzles (with lots of moving parts!) and a deep understanding of digital craftsmanship.

In addition to continuing our many years of website support and improvements, our mission was to create a member portal that did more than just look good. It needed to be a powerhouse, a digital concierge that could handle sign-ups, renewals, and integrate the intricate worlds of Aristocrat gaming machines and Salesforce CRM through a web of APIs. Sounds complex? It was. But like a chef crafting a perfect menu, we were all in.

The result? A bespoke member portal that stands as a testament to what happens when you mix state-of-the-art tech with a deep understanding of hospitality needs. This wasn’t about slapping together some code; it was about weaving a digital fabric that felt like Wests Group through and through.
